Placemaking
Big Dreams Little Homes
It all started when…
We’ve been running our placemaking workshops for years! The project was developed as part of a Creative Partnerships project Emma was involved in long long ago :) The workshop Big Dreams, Little Homes works like this:
We work in the school to map out the community
The children come in and through building a living exhbition we create their local area
Through this we facilitate and gather stories about their local area, their dreams, their favourite places, the areas that could do with some more love or facilties
We then invite parents, local people and change makers to add to the map their memrories, ideas, hopes, concerns and dreams for the area
Big Dreams, Little Homes is the All Things way of exploring, discussing, gathering and curating children and communities voices about their local area. It identifies change but importantly celebrates the uniqueness of the local area, the history and the people who live in it.
